DAY 149 OF 365: HAS ANYONE SEEN MY LOGICBOARD?

So I spent the morning at the Apple store chatting with a genius at the bar about my poor little MAC. Turns out I need a new logic board and not only will it cost me approximately $280, it will also take about 5 to 10 business days to install. So until I get it back, it seems as if I will be blogging from my office computer. Could be worse, I guess.

I am still sore from my session with JC yesterday. Most of the soreness is in my legs. I find that most of the time it is my legs that are hurting or sore. I guess I need to work on strengthening up those hot legs of mine. Starting next week I am going to try and go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week. On the off days that I am not working out with JC, I will do cardio and abs. I need to tone up this core if I want to look hot in a bathing suit. What I thought I would do today was post a couple recipes that I tried that I love. The first is a Rosemary Cucumber Lemonade. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day. What is great about it is that not only does it taste good but it is also good for your skin. I am also posting a nice berry crisp that I made this weekend for the pizza making contest. I must tell you that I did not win or even come close to winning the pizza making contest. Let’s just say that the pizza dough and I had some fights and well, one thing led to another and a not so tasty pizza was placed in front of the judges. So, I won’t be posting that recipe. This week I am also going to incorporate more protein into my diet since I am really working the muscles at the gym. The body needs to repair the torn muscle after intense workouts and in order to do that, I need more protein. I am thinking tonight I will try and hard boil some eggs and grill up some chicken. Ok, well I hope everyone enjoyed their three day weekend! I know I did.

Rosemary-Infused Cucumber Lemonade

Ingredients
3 large cucumbers
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary, plus 4 sprigs for garnish
1 cup water
1/2 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons agave syrup

Preparation
Cut 12 thin slices of cucumber for garnish.
Peel and chop the rest of the cucumber; transfer to a food processor, add rosemary and puree. Pour the puree through a fine-mesh strainer set over a medium bowl or large measuring cup. Press on the solids to extract all the juice. Add water, lemon juice and agave syrup to the cucumber juice; stir until the agave is dissolved. Divide among 4 ice-filled glasses. Garnish with cucumber slices and rosemary sprigs.

Tips & Notes
Agave syrup or nectar is the naturally sweet juice extracted from the agave plant. It has a lower glycemic index than table sugar, but is even sweeter. Use it in moderation when substituting for table sugar. Look for it near other sweeteners in natural-foods stores.

Mixed Berry Crisp
Ingredients
6 cups mixed berries (such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries;
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
7 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, diced

Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine berries, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour and lemon juice in large bowl; toss to blend well. Transfer berry mixture to 9-inch-diameter glass pie dish. Combine remaining 3/4 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, spices and salt in medium bowl. Add butter; rub in with fingertips until topping holds together in small moist clumps. Sprinkle over berry mixture.

Bake crisp until berry mixture bubbles thickly and topping is golden brown, about 1 hour. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

DAY 148 OF 365: MY THREE DAY WEEKEND COMES TO AN END

So unfortunately my three day weekend has come to an end and tomorrow I will return to the hectic grind of extras casting. This was the perfect memorial day weekend. We had sun all three days and it was in the high 80s everyday. I was able to BBQ with friends and lounge outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. I have to say though, I am extremely sore tonight. I had an intense workout with JC this morning that left me covered in sweat and hobbling home. We worked the legs, arms and abs, though my legs felt like they got the brunt of the workout.
On another note, I have to drop off my MAC again as it turns out I need a new logic board. I got the 2 year warranty and of course, it is 2 and a half years old. So it looks as if I will be blogging off my iPhone for another week or so. I will try and upload some of the recipes from the weekend at the office. Would love to share the recipes, especially the cucumber rosemary lemonade. Well, I am off to bed. I have an early morning appointment at the genius bar at the apple store. Till tomorrow.

DAY 147 OF 365: BLOGGING ON MY IPHONE IS NO FUN!

So I am really starting to miss my MAC. Blogging on my iPhone is becoming increasingly hard and not to mention annoying. The misspellings are outrageous. But typing on the keypad is tedious and therefore my blogs are short and to the point. You will be happy to know that I dropped my MAC off at the apple store today and they are keeping it overnight for observation. It sounds like I am talking about another person or even a pet, but no, it is just my computer. They actually told me that they had to do a three hour test on it. Holy crap, they mean business. The scary thing though is that my hard drive could be toast! Ugh, it is like that Sex and the City episode when Carrie's computer gets a virus and she never backed anything up. Yep folks, that is me. I am horrible with computers and therefore do not back up my work. So here is hoping they can save my poor MAC and we will be reunited tomorrow. Until then, I am off to bed as I need to get up in 6 hours to meet JC at the gym. Till tomorrow.

DAY 146 OF 365: FUN WITH FRIENDS

So today was a perfect summer day spent with friends. I was invited to a pizza making contest today that included 5 types of pizzas along with some homemade dessert and a thirst quenching Sangria. I even made Cucumber rosemary lemonade. Quite tasty and great for your skin. Once I get my MAC fixed I promise to post the recipes from the contest. Since I have to blog off my phone it is difficult to post recipes. Well, I am heading to the apple store tomorrow to have them look at my MAC. Fingers crossed they figure out what is wrong with it. Till tomorrow.

DAY 145 OF 365: THREE DAY WEEKEND

So today flew by at the office and before I knew it my three day weekend had begun. What's nicer is that the weekend is supposed to be amazing. It is supposed to be 80 degrees out and sunny all weekend. So after work, my buddy Helene and I went shopping for some fresh groceries for the pizza making contest. Along with my pizza I am making a nice sangria, a cucumber rosemary lemonade, and a berry crisp topped with homemade vanilla ice-cream. So, I will be busy tomorrow prepping all my drinks and food. In case you haven't realized, I am a competitive guy and I like to win. So I am pulling out all the stops for this contest. Also, this is day 5 of blogging off my phone and it is not fun. I am hoping that Sunday the apple genius can fix my MAC. I am lost without it. Well, off to bed. Till tomorrow.

DAY 144 OF 365: I AM TIRED

So between getting over the time change to my extremely busy week at the office, I am exhausted! I think it has finally caught up with me. Thank god for a three day weekend. I am going to a Pizza making contest this weekend and I am excited to get the opportunity to make a healthy pizza. When I think of pizza, I don't really think healthy. This might be a challenge, but that is half the fun! Should be interesting. I will let you know how it goes and I will post the recipe for my healthy pizza. Well, I am off to pay some credit card bills. I know, such an exciting Thursday night. What can I say, I keep it fun and exciting at casa Waldron. Till tomorrow.

DAY 143 OF 365: BUSY DAY AT THE OFFICE

So today was a busy day at the office. Since returning from LA I have yet to go grocery shopping. I know, not good. But in my defense, I have been so busy that when I get home it is too late. I am hoping this weekend that I can go shopping or I might just have to do a fresh direct order. Also, tomorrow is my first day back to the gym since returning to LA. Let's hope I ease back into the gym. Well, till tomorrow.

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

DAY 142 OF 365: HOT AND HUMID

Ok, so today was extremely hot and humid. Signs that summer is upon us. And that means beach and pool weather is around the corner. If that isn't motivating enough to keep working out, I don't know what is. Now that I am getting close to wrapping up season 2 of The Big C, I am going to try and hit the gym longer and more often. I might even try running. Now that the weather has been getting warmer, there are some great running paths here in Jersey City. I was never into running, but I am all about trying new and heathier things. So, why not give running a try. Well, I am off to bed. Another day of blogging off my iPhone. I need to get to the apple store and have them check out my MAC book. I don't like being without my MAC! Till tomorrow.

Monday, May 23, 2011

DAY 141 OF 365: MY COMPUTER ONCE AGAIN CRASHED

So once again my MAC Book is acting up. I have always been a PC guy but decided to give the MAC a try. I am starting to regret it. My MAC is only two years old and this is the second time it does this, ugh. So once again, I am blogging off my cell phone so I apologize if there are misspelled words. We iPhone users know how it likes to change words to what it feels you meant to write. Looks like I will be going to the apple store this weeked again!
Anyway, I am back to the grind this week at work and that means late nights and early mornings. Also, JC is on vacation so this week I will be working out by myself. No slacking on my part. Eventually, JC will no longer training me and I will have to get used to working out without him. Oh, and a tip for all you healthy eaters. Make sure to have some groceries in the fridge for when you get back from vacation or at least allow yourself some time to go grocery shopping when you get home. In my case, getting home at 1:30am and not having anything in the fridge or cabinets is not a good thing. So, I need to go grocery shopping. The only problem is that I need to find the time. Hmm, maybe a lunch break shopping excursion at Whole Foods. Well, off to bed. Blogging on my iPhone is making me tired. Till tomorrow

Sunday, May 22, 2011

DAY 140 OF 365: HOME

So after a 6 hour flight, baggage claim and a taxi ride, I am finally home. I had a blast out in LA and I already miss it. Well I wish I could chat longer but it is already 1:30am and I have an early and busy day at the office tomorrow. Night!

Saturday, May 21, 2011

DAY 139 OF 365: MORE FUN IN LA

Today I got up early and spent the entire day with my buddy Diane. We started off having a healthy breakfast at Cheebo's. If you haven't eaten there before and you are ever in LA, try it out. You won't be disappointed. I had egg whites with steamed spinach and quinoa with fresh squeezed orange juice. It was the perfect breakfast before we hiked up Runyon Canyon and checked out it's amazing views of LA. What a hike! I think if I lived out here, I would be hiking and biking there every weekend.
After our hike we cruised through Beverly Hills and took a drive through Pasadena. We then headed back to Diane's and lounged by her pool surrounded by fruit trees. The perfect LA weekend. Tomorrow it is checkout time and then off to LAX to catch my flight back to NYC. I have to admit, I love LA. Well off to bed for me. Till tomorrow.

DAY 138 OF 365: MY HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE CONTINUES

Day 2 in LA and I am loving it! I woke up to the sun streaming through the hills as I laid in my king size bed. A nice cup of coffee and a banana and I was off to work. Such a great feeling working out of our LA office. It is a huge space that includes a media room equipped with Rock Band, a living area with couches and gym equipment. After I booked all my extras for "The Big C", I headed back to my hotel to shower and get ready for our company's party. I even found time to take a late night swim. So refreshing. Well tomorrow I don't have to work and I will be spending the day with my buddy Diane. Looking forward to the fun and adventure we will have. Till tomorrow.

Thursday, May 19, 2011

DAY 137 OF 365: WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD

So I have been up since 3:30am and I am exhausted. We landed in LA this morning and went to the hotel to check in and then to the office. It has been non stop all day. Thank god for the coffee. I love LA though. Such a change of scenery from the east coast. After work today I met up with my buddies Diane and Marcus. We had an amazing steak dinner with grilled vegetables in their backyard that was full of fruit trees. They had everything from oranges and grapefruits to lemons and limes. Diane even juiced some oranges right from the tree. Amazing! I could get used to this. Well, I can barely keep my eyes open as I blog. Having computer issues so I am typing this on my iPhone. Time to sleep! Till tomorrow.

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

DAY 136 OF 365: LA BOUND

So today has been extremely hectic since I am leaving for LA tomorrow morning. I have a car service coming to pick me up at 4am. Not looking forward to that. My workout with JC was amazing this morning. We focused on upper body today, concentrating on arms and chest. I can truly see a huge difference in my chest and arms. I am starting to muscle up! Well, I am going to keep it brief tonight. I still have a lot of packing to do and I want to try and at least get 4 hours of sleep before I have to wake up. Till tomorrow.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

DAY 135 OF 365: I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN HIT BY A TAXI!

Holy crap I am sore! I spent the entire day waddling around like a penguin. My arms are sore and tight and my legs feel as if they were just hit by a NYC taxi. And for anyone that has ever been hit by a NYC taxi, you know how it feels! I am hoping that by my session with JC tomorrow morning that the soreness goes away otherwise they will be wheeling me out of the gym.
The majority of my day was spent preparing for my work trip to LA and dealing with The Big C. A lot of prep goes into casting the series and I want to make sure that everything goes smoothly since I will be working out of my LA office. Here is hoping, though I have a feeling that will not be the case. Either way, I am looking forward to the trip. It will give me a chance to meet my counter parts in our LA office and see how that group works.
I have also decided that I want to start taking Yoga and Pilates. It seems like it would be a great way to relieve stress as well as tone up my core. I mentioned before that I was having a hard time toning up my mid section and someone mentioned Pilates. So, I think after The Big C wraps that I will have to take some classes. I might as well start when I get out to Rancho La Puerta! I checked their website and they offer both Yoga and Pilates. I have a feeling once I get there; I am not going to want to leave. Well, time for me to start packing for LA! Till tomorrow.

DAY 134 OF 365: JUST ANOTHER MANIC MONDAY.

You would think that after a restful weekend I would be full of energy for Monday. I had an amazing weekend with friends and also got some much needed rest, but when my alarm went off this morning, I was not ready! It was as if my body said, well it’s Monday and we are supposed to be exhausted. Needless to say, JC kicked my ass even harder at the gym today since I was lacking energy. He seemed to think that because I actually had a restful weekend that my body was having a hard time getting back to the grind. He said that was a good sign.
Today’s work out consisted of back and arms. I really like what I see as far as definition in the arms and back, but getting that tighter stomach is a lot harder. I guess it is true what they say. The mid area and stomach are the last and hardest areas to lose the weight. Well, it is just making me more focused to get that stomach tight. I am trying to do core and abs everyday, even if I don’t hit the gym. Even if I just do 30 minutes when I wake up before showering. Hopefully that will help in tightening up the core and getting that stomach that I am dreaming of.
On another note, we got the official confirmation that Law and Order: Special Victims Unit will be back next fall for season 13. That was great news. It’s exciting to think that I am wrapping up season 2 of The Big C in a month and then off to Rancho La Puerta for a week of relaxing, working out and healthy eating. There are so many classes to take and I am stoked about the amazing hiking trails that they offer. I have a feeling that I will be up early every morning just so that I can take advantage of everything this spa has to offer. Well, I am off to bed. Another busy day at the office and I also need to prepare for my trip to LA this week. Till tomorrow.

Sunday, May 15, 2011

DAY 133 OF 365: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

So we have been blessed with warm sunny weather for the past week. That all came to an end today though. I woke up this morning to cloudy skies, scattered showers and guess what? That is the forecast for the rest of the week also. Fun times. So today became a lazy Sunday. I caught up on some bill paying and some cleaning. I was going to go grocery shopping but then I realized that I am leaving for LA Thursday morning so I decided that I would just pick up the necessities like milk, OJ and bread. This way I don’t waste money on groceries that are just going to go bad while I am out of town. Well I am off to bed. I am already counting down till I have to wake up and hit the gym with JC. I am crossing my fingers that work goes ok this week, especially since I will be working out of our LA office Thursday and Friday. Please let this go smoothly! Till tomorrow.

Saturday, May 14, 2011

DAY 132 OF 365: GAME NIGHT.

So today was a great day. I had an amazing session with Jessica about new recipes and juicing. The best part about having Jessica as my food coach is that she has the most amazing recipes. Even if I don’t think I am going to like it, I still try the recipe out. This week my recipe selection from her includes soups, green juices and some stir-fries. Looks like I will be busy this week trying out some new recipes.
Tonight, my friends and I had some great Greek food, mostly salads and an apple and pear crisp for dessert. Then we proceeded to enjoy our game night. Was great catching up with them and laughing. Sometimes we take for granted how much friends affect our health and fitness. They balance us out and give us that much needed human interaction. They are also there for us no matter what. You know that at the end of the day, they will back you up and give you the punch in the shoulder that you need to move forward and take hold of your lives. I always hear people talk about destiny and that it holds all the cards. Well, I agree with them to some extent. I believe in destiny, but it only takes you so far. It is up to you take it from there. And that is what I am doing with this challenge. I am taking hold of my destiny and my life and I am taking it in a whole new direction. Now, it is time for me to hit the hay. I finished cleaning up after game night and I am exhausted. I want to curl up in bed and count sheep. Till tomorrow.

DAY 130 AND 131: BLOGSPOT.COM WENT DOWN BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP ME

So blogspot.com went down for a couple of days and I wasn’t able to update the blog. That was really frustrating since this is part of my challenge; blogging about my journey of fitness. But, the site is back up and here is what I have been up to. I have really been increasing the weights at the gym, focusing on defining my body since I have really lost the weight. Now it is all about shaping and defining the body for me, but also strength training. My upper body has always been an issue as far as strength, and it continues to be, but now with the help of JC I am really changing that. Each session we are increasing the weights that I am lifting, pushing my body to failure. I know that sounds bizarre and when JC first told me that, I thought the same thing. But, by pushing my body till it can go anymore we are forcing it to repair the muscle that we have torn and build up its tolerance. Oh, and before I forget, I actually have chest muscles now. Who would have thought the day would come when I actually have chest muscles?
Work has been just as busy, especially since I am preparing to head out to LA next week. I will be casting out of our LA office for my NYC show, which will be difficult, especially with the time change. But, I am prepping ahead and taking every precaution so that the casting process will be a smooth transition. I am actually looking forward to heading out to LA. I have only seen this industry on the East Coast, so now I get a chance to see the West Coasts version. And who knows, maybe down the road I will have an east coast pad and a west coast pad. Could happen. Well, I am heading off to a meeting with my food coach and then it is off to enjoy the weekend. I am thinking maybe some cardio at the gym and then some fun with friends. Till tonight since I will be blogging about today, tonight. Yay for blogspot.com being back up!

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

DAY 129 OF 365: NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN

Today’s workout with JC consisted of chest and back. I must say that I am starting to actually look like I belong at the gym. That’s a far cry from what I looked like when I first started working out. You could spot me a mile away and it was pretty obvious that I had no clue what I was doing there. The best part is that we are tracking my progress and there is a huge difference in my performance from when I first started.
So the reward for this morning’s rough workout was a night out on the town with my buddy Diane. We attended the Safe Horizons Gala at Cipriani’s on Wall Street. What an amazing organization that truly inspired me. This was also a chance for me to get dressed up in a nice suit and show of my new fitter me. Now that I am home, all I can think about is curling into bed and enjoying a nice relaxing sleep. Till tomorrow.

DAY 128 OF 365: FROM A 42R TO A 40R. I AM SLIMMING DOWN!

Today was a hectic day. I was up early to be on set in Connecticut to check in the background for The Big C and then was back in the office to cast some more extras. Kind of a whirlwind day that pretty much was in fast-forward for most of it. I ate lunch quickly at my desk as I had so much work to do. Did you ever have one of those days where you felt as if you couldn’t get caught up? Well, that was how today was for me. Every time that I thought I was getting ahead, I realized that there was some thing that I forgot to do.
Tonight I caught up with my buddy Diane who flew in from LA to attend a dinner for Safe Horizons. I was lucky enough to be invited as her date. So tonight I was trying on suits and realized that my nice Zara suit, which was a 42R, no longer fits me. I now fit comfortably in a 40R. And might I add that I look damn good in it. It is great seeing the definition in my check and shoulders. I never had broad shoulders before. I feel like superman. Now only if I could have all the super powers that he had. Well, I am off to bed. I am meeting with JC in the morning for a nice workout and then off to the office to prepare for my production meeting. Of course it is in the afternoon in Connecticut, so it looks like I will be changing into my suit on the Metro North train on my way back. Should add for an interesting night. Till tomorrow.

DAY 127 OF 365: MAN BOOBS BE GONE.

I just love how Mondays sneak up on you. No matter how relaxing your weekend is, if you blink, you might just miss it. I had the most amazing weekend, and before I knew it my alarm was going off informing me it was time to get out of bed and get my ass to the gym! Today’s workout consisted of legs and chest. The best part of working out for me has been seeing the total transformation. I know that I have joked in the past about starring in the mirror looking at myself, but today I actually did. After my workout with JC and my shower, I stopped and looked in the mirror to see the total body renovation that was happening in front of my eyes. My shoulders were broadening, my chest was starting to get definition and my arms were actually sporting some muscle. That for me has been the best part. It’s hard to believe that it took me this long to realize how important it was to take care of my body. I mean, I only have one, right?
For lunch today I enjoyed some left over grilled chicken and quinoa with pees and chives. I love quinoa and I love trying new combinations. Quinoa has a way of absorbing the flavor of whatever you add to it. Whether it is a splash of lemon that you add while you cook it or adding chopped chives after you have prepared it, try different flavors, hot or cold and see how amazing quinoa can be. You can even eat it cold with some berries and a drizzle of organic maple syrup for breakfast. Well, I am off to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow morning to go to set in Connecticut for The Big C. Till tomorrow.

DAY 124 - 126: BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!

Sorry that I took a couple of days off from blogging. I just wanted a weekend free from blogging so that I had more time to enjoy this beautiful weekend. I have been so busy lately with work and working out that I haven’t been able to truly enjoy spring. I have been sleeping with the windows open every night and the cool breeze has made sleeping amazing. I don’t know if it is the cool breeze or the noise of the outside world, but whatever it is, I have been sleeping soundly every night. It is a huge difference from the winter when I was constantly waking up in the middle of the night. The other reason that I am enjoying the spring is because of the amazing fruits and produce. Everything is in season and so fresh. Makes cooking so much tastier and juicing has never been so fresh. I love juicing different combinations. My never favorite juice is apple, pear and cucumber. You would think that it would be disgusting, but I love how the flavors compliment each other. Also, you wouldn’t believe the difference green juice can make with your skin. It gives it such a natural glow. Also, if you want to try a natural facial scrub, try using one avocado with some honey. It is a great exfoliate and the natural oils of the avocado are great for your skin.
Well, I am off to bed. I had an action packed weekend and I am looking forward to a nice, restful sleep. I have a session with JC in the morning and a busy workweek. Till tomorrow.

BE BACK SUNDAY

Taking two days off from blogging but I promise I will be back on Sunday to fill you in on what I have been up to. Till then, stay healthy!

Thursday, May 5, 2011

DAY 123 OF 365: TIP OF THE WEEK. GET OUT AND ENJOY SOME FRESH AIR!

With spring here, it is time that we get out and enjoy the fresh air! Whether you go for a walk or a jog or if you are up for it, a run, just get outside and get some fresh air. The body actually needs vitamin D and you won’t get that by staying inside, or just working out in the gym. Sometimes a nice walk after dinner is all you need. I don’t know about you, but I love walking around my neighborhood and just looking at all the homes and the great architecture. Some of these homes in Jersey City were built in the 1800s and they have such character. I find myself just staring at them. Now, if someone actually looked out their window and saw me, it might look like I am some crazy stalker or peeping tom. Hmm, maybe I shouldn’t stare at them so long. Anyway, the point is, spring is here. Enjoy the weather and get out more often. Whether it is a morning jog or an after dinner walk, enjoy some fresh air. Your body will thank you. Well, I need some rest before training with JC in the morning. I find that on Friday’s here steps up the training and really kicks it into high gear. Till tomorrow.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

DAY 122 OF 365: LEGS ARE FEELING LIKE JELL-O

This morning’s workout with JC was extremely rough on the legs. We focused on legs and abs today and by the end of the session I fell over. No really, I actually fell over. After we were done working out, I got off of the machine and lost my balance and toppled over. Needless to say, my legs were jell-o. They are felling better now, but wow, they were sore this morning and during the day. We have also been working more on the core and abs, doing crunches and planks after every workout. Every time that I think I have mastered a workout, JC switched it up and increases it and it is like starting all over again. But like I said, don’t fall into a routine. You have to keep it fresh and switch it up. That will increase fat burning and muscle building.
Work has been great, especially since I have been able to get out at a decent hour every night. That means home cooked dinners and more sleep and rest. I love cooking in my kitchen and I cannot get enough of my juicer. There is something about fresh juice in the morning that just makes me all giddy. On another note, with spring here, all the farmers markets are starting to open and there the fresh produce is amazing. I love stopping at the farmers market and letting the produce decide what I will be making for dinner. Well, off to bed. Till tomorrow.

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

DAY 121 OF 365: YES I KNOW. I AM CHEAP!

Now that I have lost 25lbs and have started to define my body, my clothes are not fitting right. My pants are baggy and my shirts are loose and not fitting right. I look like someone that should be on the TLC series, "What not to wear". But here is the thing. What is the point of going out and buying new clothes if I am not done shaping my body and firming it up? Everyone keeps saying to me that it is time I invest in new clothes, but anyone that really knows me, knows that I am one cheap dude. I hate to part with money, especially if I don’t have to. I am the type of guy that likes to get his money’s worth. I will wear these clothes till I can’t wear them anymore. So until them I will keep working out and eating healthy, and start finding my new style. Since I am going to go on a shopping spree I should think long and hard about my new look. With a new healthier fitter me, comes a new style. Am I urban chic? Or maybe I am more metro-sexual. That is going to be the fun part. Deciding my new style and look. If you think about it, a lot of celebrities are reinventing themselves to revive their careers. So I have to look at it that way. This is my chance to paint a new picture. I am a blank canvas waiting to have color and vibrancy. Well off to bed. Morning session with JC and then off to work. Till tomorrow.

DAY 120 OF 365: I SET OFF THE FIRE ALARM

I was so excited to get home at a normal hour. I met my friends for dinner and drinks before heading home. Since I didn’t have a chance to cook this weekend I wanted to get home to prepare some home cooked meals for lunches for the week. What was on the menu you say? Well, I started with some baby potatoes that I roasted with some chives, salt, pepper and extra virgin olive oil. I also roasted some Brussels sprouts and tomatoes with some fresh herbs and then for the main dish, some BBQ chicken. The kitchen smelled amazing. Nothing like the aroma of dinner to fill a house. Now, if I were smart I would have turned the vent above the oven on. Alas, I was not that smart. So when I opened the oven I set off the fire alarm. I waved a towel at the alarm for what seemed like 30 minutes. I kept praying that it would turn off but it didn’t. I then decided to open all the windows, turn the exhaust fan on and then hook up a fan underneath the fire alarm. Well it finally shut off. So after about an hour, I packed up all the food for my lunches for the week and retired to the bedroom. Then, my fire alarm began beeping and explaining that it had a low battery. Just my luck!
I was going to attempt to go to the gym tomorrow morning, but I am so sore from my workout with JC this morning that I think I am going to take the morning off. Instead I am going to make myself a nice breakfast and watch the news like a grown up. I am getting excited that I will be leaving for LA in three weeks. I will be working out of my LA office for a few days and then attending a shareholders meeting. It will also give me a chance to show off my healthier fitter body and meet up with Diane and Marcus. I am looking forward to seeing their LA pad and meet their new puppies. Till tomorrow.

DAY 119 OF 365: I'M HUNTING BEARS

I love Sunday. It is the one-day that it feels ok to sleep in. There was a nice breeze coming in from the windows as I enjoyed my coffee and caught up on some bills. I have yet to balance my checkbook and figure out where that extra money came from. I think I am just too scared that I am going to realize that I screwed up something else in my checkbook so I just keep putting it off until the next weekend. Thank god I don’t have to work with numbers in my job. I would never make it.
It was another beautiful day out and I enjoyed part of it before heading to work. I know, work on a Sunday! You are thinking of Jesus who on the 7th day rested. But this is the 21st century and on the 7th day he still worked. Heck on the 1st through 6th day he also worked. You see I was having an open casting call at The Eagle in New York City for Bears for The Big C. Never a dull day with this job. Just when I think I have cast just about everything, here comes a bear bar. They were the nicest guys I have ever met. Now here is hoping that they all show up. The thing about doing real people casting is that sometimes they think this is just for fun and not actually a real job, so they are less inclined to actually show up. It is more a thrill for them to say that they are an extra on The Big C rather than actually show up to be an extra. Fingers crossed. I am hoping that now that my schedule has slowed down a bit that I can actually start cooking dinner at a reasonable hour. Wouldn’t that be a treat? Actually getting home before 8pm to cook a nice meal and sit down at my dinner table and eat.
So I have really been noticing some definition in my body. There are some real muscles starting to appear and I am pretty sure I see some abs growth. Now that I am eating healthier and my body is shaping up it is time to start fixing my style. This is the perfect time to give myself a total redo. My clothes are not fitting and eventually I am going to have to splurge on some new clothes. I am also in dire need of a hair cut. I am thinking a new cut and maybe even a shade lighter. I have always dyed my hair darker since my hair is naturally a reddish blonde. I am thinking it might be time to go back to blonde. They do have more fun! Well, it is time for me to count sheep. I have a session with JC in the morning and I want to make sure I am ready to kick ass. Till tomorrow.
